3M is confronting the COVID-19 pandemic from all angles and in attention to all relevant public
During this global crisis, the safety of our collaborators and the general public, including the health professionals and first responders, is a priority for 3M. We are grateful for the work that our people are doing to support the response of public health and we are adopting measures to protect their wellbeing, including working remotely when possible, and applying solid safety protocols throughout our facilities.
Since January, 3M has doubled the global production of N95 respirators to 1.100 million, including the manufacturing facilities in the United States, Asia and Europe. 3M will double its capacity to 2 thousand million per year in the next 12 months.
During this crisis, 3M is experiencing an unprecedented increase in the demand for N95 respirators, and the demand will surpass the supply in the future. As we work with urgency to expand our own production, we are also working with the governments and other participants to prioritize, classify and redirect the supply to meet the most critical needs and areas. 3M is also partnering with other companies in a range of innovative solutions to protect healthcare workers and first response services.

Increasing the production of N95 respiratorsSince the beginning of the outbreak, we have doubled our global production of N95 respirators. Our production lines are working 24 hours a day, seven days a week, we are hiring new employees, adding shifts and activating more lines to maximize the production of other important products, such as hand sanitizers and surface disinfectants.

Taking our products to those who need it mostMost of the N95 respirators that arrive in Latin America are now designated first and foremost to healthcare professionals who are assisting as first responders to the outbreak, the rest of the products are distributed among other industries which are also critical during this pandemic, including energy, food and pharmaceutical companies.

Fighting fraud and counterfeitingWe are working to support the fight against counterfeiting and fraudulent activities with 3M products which are critical in order to provide a during the pandemic.
